In Sunday's non-league outing, the Westfield Blue Devils (Westfield, NJ) basketball squad edged the visiting South Plainfield Tigers (South Plainfield, NJ), by a count of 59-56.
The Blue Devils (5-6) will now prepare for their outing against Elizabeth (Elizabeth, NJ). The Minutemen go into the Union County outing with a 9-2 record. In their last outing, Elizabeth held off Colonia (Colonia, NJ), 59-56, in a non-league outing.
The Tigers now hold a 9-4 record. They play next when they travel to New Providence for a non-league outing on Monday, January 15. South Plainfield will clash with a Pioneers squad coming off a 51-50 non-league win over Woodbridge (Woodbridge, NJ). The Pioneers record now stands at 8-3.
