The Salt Lake Academy Griffins basketball team scored 31 points and limited the host Freedom Prep Academy Eagles to 8 in the Griffins league triumph on Tuesday.

The Griffins now have a 5-4 record. They play next when they host Wasatch Academy for a 2A Region 16 game on Wednesday, January 15. Salt Lake Academy will confront a Tigers team coming off a 30-7 non-league loss to Salt Lake Academy (Herriman, UT). The Tigers record now stands at 0-2.

With the loss, Freedom Prep Academy falls to 2-12 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Merit Preparatory Academy (Springville, UT) to confront the Knights in a 2A Region 16 game on Friday, January 17. The Knights go into the game with a record of 1-5. Merit Preparatory Academy lost 51-23 in their recent non-league game against American Leadership Academy (Spanish Fork, UT)
