The Merino Rams (Merino, CO) basketball crushed the host Genoa-Hugo/Karval Pirates (Hugo, CO), 50-17 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Rams (8-1) will now prepare for their test against Prairie (New Raymer, CO). The Mustangs go into the non-league test with a 3-4 record. In their last test, Prairie walloped Denver Jewish Day (Denver, CO), 81-7, in a non-league test.

The Pirates now own a 2-7 record. They play next when they travel to Stratton for a 2A/1A Union Pacific test on Saturday, January 22.
