Central Golden Eagles (Springfield, MA) backers were in high spirits Sunday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Colonie Central Raiders (Albany, NY), 48-44 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Central upgrades its record to 7-2 on the season. The Golden Eagles host Holyoke (Holyoke, MA) to clash with the Purple Knights in a Freelance bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Purple Knights go into the bout with a record of 2-0. Holyoke won 61-47 in their recent non-league bout against Pittsfield (Pittsfield, MA)

Next up, the Raiders clash with the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Spartans (Burnt Hills, NY) in a Section 2 Suburban bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Colonie Central will attempt to upgrade on its 9-5 season record. The Spartans go into the bout with a 5-7 record after their 62-30 league loss to Bethlehem Central (Delmar, NY).
