Georgia High School Basketball - Heritage fells Gainesville

January 15, 2024: Gainesville, GA 30501

Heritage Hawks (Newnan, GA) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Gainesville Red Elephants (Gainesville, GA), 58-44 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Heritage upgrades its record to 14-2 on the season. The Hawks host Brookstone (Columbus, GA) to play the Cougars in a GIAA AAAA/AAA District 5 bout on Friday, January 19. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 11-6. Brookstone won 45-35 in their recent league bout against Strong Rock Christian (Locust Grove, GA)

Next up, the Red Elephants play the Jackson County Panthers (Jefferson, GA) in a AAAAAA Region 8 bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Gainesville will attempt to upgrade on its 5-12 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 8-9 record after their 65-52 non-league win over Gilmer (Ellijay, GA).
