John Carroll Catholic Cavaliers (Birmingham, AL) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Leeds Greenwave (Leeds, AL), 49-42 in a non-league bout.

With the win, John Carroll Catholic upgrades its record to 16-6 on the season. The Cavaliers travel to Gardendale (Gardendale, AL) to play the Rockets in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Rockets go into the bout with a record of 12-6. Gardendale won 71-61 in their recent non-league bout against American Christian Academy (Tuscaloosa, AL)

Next up, the Greenwave play the Moody Blue Devils (Moody, AL) in a 5A Area 11 bout, on Friday, January 19. Leeds will attempt to upgrade on its 10-11 season record. The Blue Devils go into the bout with a 5-15 record after their 54-49 league loss to St. Clair County (Odenville, AL).
