Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the New Berlin Pretzels (New Berlin, IL) and the host Springfield Senators (Springfield, IL), saw New Berlin's basketball squad hold off Springfield by a count of 42-38.

With the victory, New Berlin upgrades its record to 14-5 on the campaign. The Pretzels host Tri-City (Buffalo, IL) to play the Tornadoes in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 16. The Tornadoes come into the challenge with a record of 0-17. Tri-City lost 68-18 in their recent non-league challenge against Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains, IL)

Next up, the Senators play the Rochester Rockets (Rochester, IL) in a Central State Eight challenge, on Wednesday, January 24. Springfield will attempt to upgrade on its 3-12 season record.
