Castaic Coyotes (Castaic, CA) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Sylmar Spartans (Sylmar, CA), 62-49 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Castaic upgrades its record to 5-3 on the season. The Coyotes travel to Golden Valley (Santa Clarita, CA) to clash with the Grizzlies in a bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Grizzlies go into the bout with a record of 2-9. Golden Valley lost 47-41 in their recent non-league bout against Lancaster (Lancaster, CA)

Next up, the Spartans clash with the Kennedy Fighting Irish (La Palma, CA) in a bout, on Friday, January 26. Sylmar will attempt to upgrade on its 0-5 season record. The Fighting Irish go into the bout with a 2-2 record after their 61-58 non-league loss to California (Whittier, CA).
