Big Rapids Cardinals (Big Rapids, MI) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Midland Chemics (Midland, MI), 45-33 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Big Rapids upgrades its record to 4-3 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Central Montcalm (Stanton, MI) to play the Hornets in a Central State bout on Friday, January 19. The Hornets come into the bout with a record of 4-4.

Next up, the Chemics play the Dow Chargers (Midland, MI) in a Saginaw Valley bout, on Friday, January 19. Midland will attempt to upgrade on its 6-3 season record. The Chargers come into the bout with a 8-2 record after their 68-27 league win over Central (Bay City, MI).
