The crowd at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Murphysboro Red Devils (Murphysboro, IL) and the visiting St. Pius X Lancers (Festus, MO), observed Murphysboro's basketball team overwhelm St. Pius X by a margin of 79-44.
The Red Devils (12-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Carterville (Carterville, IL). The Lions come into the Southern Illinois River-to-River - Ohio challenge with a 8-7 record. In their last challenge, Carterville trounced Carbondale (Carbondale, IL), 49-40, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Lancers battle the Affton Cougars (St. Louis, MO) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 28. St. Pius X will attempt to better on its 2-9 season record.
