The crowd at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Mountain Valley Falcons (Rumford, ME) and the visiting Dirigo Cougars (Dixfield, ME), observed Mountain Valley's basketball team edge Dirigo by a score of 47-45.

The Falcons (8-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Hall-Dale (Farmingdale, ME). The Bulldogs come into the non-league challenge with a 9-3 record. In their last challenge, Hall-Dale was tipped by Mount Abram (Strong, ME), 44-37, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Cougars encounter the Sacopee Valley Hawks (Cornish, ME) in a C South challenge, on Tuesday, January 21. Dirigo will attempt to improve on its 9-5 season record. The Hawks come into the challenge with a 2-10 record after their 37-26 league loss to Richmond (Richmond, ME).
