Chassell Panthers (Chassell, MI) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Johnston Speedboys (Bessemer, MI), 48-37 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Chassell upgrades its record to 1-6 on the season. The Panthers travel to Calumet (Calumet, MI) to play the Copper Kings in a non-league bout on Monday, January 23. The Copper Kings go into the bout with a record of 3-4.

Next up, the Speedboys play the Mercer Tigers (Mercer, WI) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Johnston will attempt to upgrade on its 1-6 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 2-7 record after their 80-58 league loss to Mellen (Mellen, WI).
