Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Hillcrest Patriots (Tuscaloosa, AL) and the visiting Haleyville Lions (Haleyville, AL), saw Hillcrest's basketball squad hold off Haleyville by a tally of 64-61.
With the victory, Hillcrest improves its record to 5-6 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Paul W. Bryant (Cottondale, AL) to confront the Stampede in a 6A Area 6 challenge on Friday, January 20. The Stampede come into the challenge with a record of 13-8.
Next up, the Lions confront the Fairview Aggies (Cullman, AL) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 17. Haleyville will attempt to improve on its 10-11 season record. The Aggies come into the challenge with a 9-13 record after their 63-56 non-league win over Randolph School (Huntsville, AL).
