Georgia High School Basketball - McDonough nips Sandy Creek

January 16, 2023: Tyrone, GA 30290

McDonough Warhawks (McDonough, GA) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Sandy Creek Patriots (Tyrone, GA), 68-61 in a non-league bout.

With the win, McDonough upgrades its record to 15-2 on the season. The Warhawks host Pace Academy (Atlanta, GA) to play the Knights in a AAAA Region 5 bout on Friday, January 20. The Knights go into the bout with a record of 12-4. Pace Academy won 62-55 in their recent non-league bout against Chaminade-Julienne (Dayton, OH)

Next up, the Patriots play the Carver Panthers (Atlanta, GA) in a AAA Region 5 bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Sandy Creek will attempt to upgrade on its 13-4 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 0-16 record after their 79-29 non-league loss to South Atlanta (Atlanta, GA).
