In Monday's non-league outing, the Rabun Gap-Nacoochee Eagles (Rabun Gap, GA) basketball squad beat the visiting Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes (Monroe, GA), by a count of 66-47.
The Eagles (16-5) will now prepare for their outing against Asheville Christian Academy (Swannanoa, NC). The Lions go into the NCISAA Carolinas outing with a 5-16 record. In their last outing, Asheville Christian Academy was topped by Asheville School (Independent) (Asheville, NC), 59-46, in a league outing.
The Purple Hurricanes now hold a 13-3 record. They play next when they travel to Hebron Christian Academy for a AAA Region 8 outing on Tuesday, January 17. Monroe Area will clash with a Lions squad coming off a 48-43 league loss to Hart County (Hartwell, GA). The Lions record now stands at 6-10.
