North Sand Mountain Bison (Higdon, AL) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Mortimer Jordan Blue Devils (Kimberly, AL), 75-68 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, North Sand Mountain upgrades its record to 17-4 on the campaign. The Bison travel to Section (Section, AL) to play the Lions in a non-league bout on Friday, January 20. The Lions come into the bout with a record of 0-9. Section lost 87-48 in their recent league bout against North Sand Mountain (Higdon, AL)

Next up, the Blue Devils play the Pinson Valley Indians (Pinson, AL) in a 6A Area 12 bout, on Thursday, January 19. Mortimer Jordan will attempt to upgrade on its 3-11 season record. The Indians come into the bout with a 20-0 record after their 67-59 non-league win over Huntsville (Huntsville, AL).
