The Mt. Baker Mountaineers basketball team scored 40 points and restricted the host Blaine Borderites to 35 in the Mountaineers league victory on Monday.

The Mountaineers now sport a 1-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Nooksack Valley for a 1A/2A/3A Northwest contest on Thursday, January 19. Mt. Baker will battle a Pioneers team coming off a 69-22 league win over Meridian (Bellingham, WA). The Pioneers record now stands at 9-1.

The Borderites (1-7) will now prepare for their contest against Burlington-Edison (Burlington, WA). The Tigers come into the 1A/2A/3A Northwest contest with a 7-1 record. In their last contest, Burlington-Edison edged Lynden (Lynden, WA), 47-45, in a league contest.
