Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Crete-Monee Warriors (Crete, IL) and the host Proviso East Pirates (Maywood, IL), saw Crete-Monee's basketball squad overcome Proviso East by a tally of 44-35.

With the victory, Crete-Monee improves its record to 8-14 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Thornton (Harvey, IL) to confront the Wildcats in a Southland challenge on Tuesday, January 17. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a record of 2-16. Thornton lost 49-30 in their recent league challenge against Rich Township (Olympia Fields, IL)

Next up, the Pirates confront the Leyden Eagles (Franklin Park, IL) in a West Suburban - Gold challenge, on Saturday, January 21. Proviso East will attempt to improve on its 6-13 season record.
