The Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings basketball team scored 56 points and held the host Denver Cyclones to 30 in the Vikings non-league triumph on Monday.

The Vikings now sport a 8-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Williamsburg for a WAMAC - West game on Tuesday, January 17. Vinton-Shellsburg will face a Raiders team coming off a 55-24 league win over South Tama County (Tama, IA). The Raiders record now stands at 3-10.

With the loss, Denver falls to 5-7 on the campaign. The Cyclones host Dike-New Hartford (Dike, IA) to play the Wolverines in a North Iowa Cedar - East challenge on Tuesday, January 17. The Wolverines come into the challenge with a record of 12-0. Dike-New Hartford won 70-15 in their recent league challenge against Union (La Porte City, IA)
