Frazee Hornets (Frazee, MN) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Verndale Pirates (Verndale, MN), 66-49 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Frazee upgrades its record to 4-7 on the season. The Hornets host Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton (Glyndon, MN) to play the Rebels in a AA Section 8 bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Rebels go into the bout with a record of 5-6. Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton won 60-45 in their recent league bout against East Grand Forks (East Grand Forks, MN)

Next up, the Pirates play the New York Mills Eagles (New York Mills, MN) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Verndale will attempt to upgrade on its 1-8 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 4-6 record after their 66-44 non-league win over Bertha-Hewitt (Bertha, MN).
