The Nashwauk-Keewatin Spartans basketball team (Nashwauk, MN), was overwhelmed 72-38 in Monday's non-league battle with the visiting Mesabi East Giants (Aurora, MN)
The Giants now possess a 5-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Rock Ridge co-op [Eveleth-Gilbert/Virginia] for a AA Section 7 battle on Tuesday, January 17. Mesabi East will confront a Wolverines team coming off a 62-38 non-league win over Thief River Falls (Thief River Falls, MN). The Wolverines record now stands at 9-6.
The Spartans (4-9) will now prepare for their battle against Floodwood (Floodwood, MN). The Polar Bears come into the A Section 7 battle with a 6-4 record. In their last battle, Floodwood trounced McGregor (McGregor, MN), 59-26, in a non-league battle.
