Newaygo Lions (Newaygo, MI) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Orchard View Cardinals (Muskegon, MI), 38-25 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Newaygo upgrades its record to 3-8 on the campaign. The Lions host Mason County Central (Scottville, MI) to play the Spartans in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 18. The Spartans come into the bout with a record of 9-1. Mason County Central won 42-30 in their recent non-league bout against Fremont (Fremont, MI)

Next up, the Cardinals play the Walkerville Wildcats (Walkerville, MI) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 18. Orchard View will attempt to upgrade on its 1-10 season record. The Wildcats come into the bout with a 1-9 record after their 45-12 league loss to Mason County Eastern (Custer, MI).
