Athens Warriors (Athens, IL) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Midwest Central Raiders (Manito, IL), 63-31 in a league bout.

With the win, Athens upgrades its record to 12-7 on the season. The Warriors travel to New Berlin (New Berlin, IL) to play the Pretzels in a Sangamo bout on Friday, January 19. The Pretzels go into the bout with a record of 15-5. New Berlin won 58-25 in their recent non-league bout against Tri-City (Buffalo, IL)

Next up, the Raiders play the Hartsburg-Emden Stags (Hartsburg, IL) in a Tomahawk bout, on Friday, January 19. Midwest Central will attempt to upgrade on its 3-16 season record. The Stags go into the bout with a 4-16 record after their 50-25 non-league win over DeLand-Weldon (DeLand, IL).
