The Viborg/Hurley Cougars basketball team scored 61 points and held the host Avon Pirates to 37 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Tuesday.
The Cougars now sport a 6-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Baltic for a non-league contest on Thursday, January 18. Viborg/Hurley will meet a Bulldogs team coming off a 54-49 league loss to West Central (Hartford, SD). The Bulldogs record now stands at 8-4.
The Pirates (1-6) will now prepare for their contest against Andes Central/Dakota Christian (Lake Andes, SD). The enter the B Region 5 contest with a 4-4 record. In their last contest, Andes Central/Dakota Christian was routed by Corsica/Stickney (Corsica, SD), 46-34, in a league contest.
