Hanson Beavers (Alexandria, SD) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Howard Tigers (Howard, SD), 54-49 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Hanson upgrades its record to 6-3 on the campaign. The Beavers host Canistota (Canistota, SD) to play the Hawks in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 18. The Hawks come into the bout with a record of 8-0. Canistota won 67-29 in their recent non-league bout against Freeman Academy/Marion (Freeman, SD)

Next up, the Tigers play the Bridgewater/Emery Huskies (Emery, SD) in a B Region 3 bout, on Thursday, January 18. Howard will attempt to upgrade on its 7-3 season record.
