St. Mary's-Colgan Panthers (Pittsburg, KS) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Jefferson Independent Day Cavaliers (Joplin, MO), 66-16 in a non-league bout.

With the win, St. Mary's-Colgan upgrades its record to 8-1 on the season. The Panthers travel to Frontenac (Frontenac, KS) to play the Raiders in a Crawford-Neosho-Cherokee bout on Tuesday, January 23. The Raiders go into the bout with a record of 2-6. Frontenac lost 71-36 in their recent non-league bout against Life Prep (Park City, KS)

Next up, the Cavaliers play the Sheldon Panthers (Sheldon, MO) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 18. Jefferson Independent Day will attempt to upgrade on its 2-12 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 8-6 record after their 68-28 non-league loss to Liberal (Liberal, MO).
