Maple River Eagles (Mapleton, MN) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Le Sueur-Henderson/Minnesota New Country Giants (Le Sueur, MN), 79-47 in a league bout.

With the victory, Maple River upgrades its record to 13-14 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Hatton/Northwood (Northwood, ND) to play the Thunder in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Thunder come into the bout with a record of 4-5.

Next up, the Giants play the Belle Plaine Tigers (Belle Plaine, MN) in a AA Section 2 game, on Thursday, January 18. Le Sueur-Henderson/Minnesota New Country will attempt to move on its 7-5 season record. The Tigers enter the game with a 10-3 record after their 68-67 league win over Waseca (Waseca, MN).
