The Newton Eagles (Newton, IL) basketball felled the visiting Mt. Carmel Golden Aces (Mt. Carmel, IL), 53-42 in Tuesday's league test.
The Eagles (14-7) will now prepare for their test against Marshall (Marshall, IL). The Lions go into the non-league test with a 8-11 record.
The Golden Aces now own a 7-8 record. They play next when they travel to Casey-Westfield for a Little Illini test on Friday, February 2.
