Charlestown Pirates (Charlestown, IN) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting New Albany Bulldogs (New Albany, IN), 53-39 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Charlestown upgrades its record to 13-6 on the season. The Pirates host North Oldham (Goshen, KY) to play the Mustangs in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 17. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 5-9.

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Jeffersonville Red Devils (Jeffersonville, IN) in a Hoosier Hills bout, on Thursday, January 18. New Albany will attempt to upgrade on its 3-17 season record. The Red Devils go into the bout with a 11-9 record after their 54-48 league win over Seymour (Seymour, IN).
