Lincoln East Spartans (Lincoln, NE) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Kearney Bearcats (Kearney, NE), 56-45 in a league bout.
With the win, Lincoln East upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Spartans host Papillion-LaVista South (Papillion, NE) to clash with the Titans in a bout on Saturday, February 3. The Titans go into the bout with a record of 7-4.
Next up, the Bearcats clash with the Norfolk Panthers (Norfolk, NE) in a bout, on Friday, January 19. Kearney will attempt to upgrade on its 8-1 season record.
