In Thursday's non-league test, the Alcester-Hudson Cubs (Alcester, SD) basketball squad defeated the visiting Akron-Westfield Westerners (Akron, IA), by a final score of 66-58.
Next, the Cubs clash with the Scotland/Menno Trappers (Menno, SD) in a non-league test, on Saturday, January 18. Alcester-Hudson will attempt to upgrade on its 6-3 season record. The Trappers come into the test with a 2-6 record after their 67-65 non-league win over Andes Central/Dakota Christian (Lake Andes, SD).
The Westerners (3-9) will now prepare for their test against George-Little Rock (George, IA). The Mustangs come into the non-league test with a 1-11 record. In their last test, George-Little Rock went down by Trinity Christian (Hull, IA), 55-38, in a non-league test.
