East Ascension Spartans (Gonzales, LA) supporters left the game satisfied Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the visiting East Iberville Tigers (St. Gabriel, LA), 63-38 in a non-league match.

With the victory, East Ascension advances its record to 11-4 on the year. The Spartans host St. Amant (St. Amant, LA) to face the Gators in a 5A District 5 match on Monday, January 20. The Gators enter the match with a record of 17-17. St. Amant won 66-56 in their recent league match against Dutchtown (Geismar, LA)

The Tigers now own a 21-14 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Catholic of Pointe Coupee for a non-league match on Friday, January 17. East Iberville will face a Hornets squad coming off a 56-34 non-league loss to Parkview Baptist (Baton Rouge, LA). The Hornets record now stands at 8-12.
