The crowd at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Moundridge Wildcats (Moundridge, KS) and the visiting Garden Plain Owls (Garden Plain, KS), observed Moundridge's basketball team overwhelm Garden Plain by a score of 73-43.

The Wildcats (8-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Classical (Wichita, KS). The Saints come into the Heart of America challenge with a 6-2 record. In their last challenge, Classical was routed by Remington (Whitewater, KS), 52-35, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Owls encounter the Medicine Lodge Indians (Medicine Lodge, KS) in a Central Plains challenge, on Friday, January 17. Garden Plain will attempt to improve on its 5-4 season record. The Indians come into the challenge with a 3-5 record after their 44-41 league loss to Kingman (Kingman, KS).
