Springfield Cougars (Springfield, PA) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Chichester Eagles (Boothwyn, PA), 47-38 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Springfield upgrades its record to 7-5 on the season. The Cougars travel to Conestoga (Berwyn, PA) to play the Pioneers in a Central bout on Wednesday, January 19. The Pioneers go into the bout with a record of 9-3. Conestoga won 45-43 in their recent league bout against Lower Merion (Ardmore, PA)

Next up, the Eagles play the Penn Wood Patriots (Lansdowne, PA) in a Delaware Valley bout, on Tuesday, January 18. Chichester will attempt to upgrade on its 4-7 season record. The Patriots go into the bout with a 3-2 record after their 72-62 non-league win over Garnet Valley (Glen Mills, PA).
