Michigan High School Basketball - Athens ripped by Union City

January 17, 2023: Athens, MI 49011

The Union City Chargers basketball team scored 72 points and held the host Athens Indians to 19 in the Chargers non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Chargers now sport a 4-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Reading for a Big 8 contest on Thursday, January 19. Union City will battle a Rangers team coming off a 59-52 non-league loss to Michigan Center (Michigan Center, MI). The Rangers record now stands at 8-2.

The Indians (0-7) will now prepare for their contest against Climax-Scotts (Climax, MI). The Panthers enter the Southern Central contest with a 3-5 record. In their last contest, Climax-Scotts was routed by Kellogg (Delton, MI), 58-50, in a non-league contest.
