Benton Cardinals (St. Joseph, MO) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Mid-Buchanan Dragons (Faucett, MO), 61-41 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Benton upgrades its record to 5-9 on the season. The Cardinals travel to St. Michael the Archangel (Lee's Summit, MO) to clash with the Guardians in a non-league bout on Friday, January 20. The Guardians go into the bout with a record of 8-6. St. Michael the Archangel won 69-60 in their recent non-league bout against Summit Christian Academy (Lee's Summit, MO)

Next up, the Dragons clash with the Lathrop Mules (Lathrop, MO) in a KCI bout, on Friday, January 20. Mid-Buchanan will attempt to upgrade on its 10-5 season record.
