Iowa High School Basketball - Columbus can't hold off New Hampton

The Columbus Sailors basketball team (Waterloo, IA), was nudged 56-50 in Tuesday's non-league battle with the visiting New Hampton Chickasaws (New Hampton, IA)
The Chickasaws now possess a 5-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Waukon for a Northeast Iowa battle on Friday, January 20. New Hampton will battle a Indians team coming off a 49-48 non-league win over Prairie du Chien (Prairie du Chien, WI). The Indians record now stands at 3-11.
The Sailors (2-10) will now prepare for their battle against Hudson (Hudson, IA). The Pirates come into the North Iowa Cedar - East battle with a 8-6 record. In their last battle, Hudson edged Oelwein (Oelwein, IA), 77-42, in a league battle.
