Southside Sharks (Youngsville, LA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Northwest Raiders (Opelousas, LA), 67-40 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Southside upgrades its record to 8-5 on the season. The Sharks host Madison Prep Academy (Baton Rouge, LA) to clash with the in a non-league bout on Friday, January 20. The go into the bout with a record of 19-1. Madison Prep Academy won 50-48 in their recent non-league bout against Newman (New Orleans, LA)

Next up, the Raiders clash with the Ville Platte Bulldogs (Ville Platte, LA) in a 3A District 4 bout, on Friday, January 20. Northwest will attempt to upgrade on its 6-7 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 10-5 record after their 66-58 non-league win over Opelousas (Opelousas, LA).
