Illinois High School Basketball - Wethersfield can't hold off ROWVA/Williamsfield

The ROWVA/Williamsfield Cougars basketball team scored 78 points and held the visiting Wethersfield Flying Geese to 75 in the Cougars league triumph on Tuesday.

The Cougars now sport a 15-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Stark County for a Lincoln Trail contest on Friday, January 20. ROWVA/Williamsfield will battle a Rebels team coming off a 42-41 league win over Biggsville West Central (Biggsville, IL). The Rebels record now stands at 7-8.

The Flying Geese (9-9) will now prepare for their contest against Mercer County (Aledo, IL). The Golden Eagles enter the Lincoln Trail contest with a 10-5 record. In their last contest, Mercer County nudged Abingdon/Avon (Abingdon, IL), 65-40, in a league contest.
