New Covenant Gryphons (Lynchburg, VA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Lynchburg HomeSchool Patriots (Lynchburg, VA), 44-36 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, New Covenant upgrades its record to 6-4 on the campaign. The Gryphons host Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy (Moneta, VA) to play the Ospreys in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 19. The Ospreys come into the bout with a record of 7-0. Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy won 39-36 in their recent league bout against Roanoke Valley Christian (Roanoke, VA)
