Bishop Diego Cardinals (Santa Barbara, CA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Thacher Toads (Ojai, CA), 56-47 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Bishop Diego upgrades its record to 5-17 on the season. The Cardinals travel to Dunn (Los Olivos, CA) to play the Earwigs in a Tri-Valley bout on Friday, January 19. The Earwigs go into the bout with a record of 9-8. Dunn won 79-61 in their recent league bout against Cate (Carpinteria, CA)

Next up, the Toads play the Grace Lancers (Simi Valley, CA) in a Frontier bout, on Friday, January 19. Thacher will attempt to upgrade on its 6-5 season record. The Lancers go into the bout with a 1-9 record after their 54-43 league loss to Foothill Tech (Ventura, CA).
