Clairemont Chieftains (San Diego, CA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Valhalla Norsemen (El Cajon, CA), 74-61 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Clairemont upgrades its record to 12-8 on the season. The Chieftains host La Jolla (La Jolla, CA) to play the Vikings in a Central bout on Friday, January 19. The Vikings go into the bout with a record of 13-9. La Jolla lost 58-47 in their recent league bout against Canyon Hills (San Diego, CA)

Next up, the Norsemen play the Steele Canyon Cougars (Spring Valley, CA) in a Grossmont - Hills bout, on Friday, January 19. Valhalla will attempt to upgrade on its 6-14 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 9-12 record after their 57-41 league win over West Hills (Santee, CA).
