Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Elgin Comets (Marion, OH) and the host Columbus Academy Vikings (Gahanna, OH), saw Elgin's basketball squad overcome Columbus Academy by a tally of 40-29.

With the victory, Elgin improves its record to 11-3 on the campaign. The Comets host Ridgedale (Morral, OH) to confront the Rockets in a Northwest Central challenge on Monday, January 22. The Rockets come into the challenge with a record of 7-6.

Next up, the Vikings confront the Bexley Lions (Columbus, OH) in a Central Buckeye League challenge, on Friday, January 19. Columbus Academy will attempt to improve on its 5-6 season record. The Lions come into the challenge with a 5-8 record after their 40-28 non-league loss to Westerville Central (Westerville, OH).
