In Wednesday's non-league outing, the Hickory Hawks (Chesapeake, VA) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Tallwood Lions (Virginia Beach, VA), by a count of 52-21.
The Hawks (5-8) will now prepare for their outing against Deep Creek (Chesapeake, VA). The Hornets go into the Southeastern outing with a 10-1 record. In their last outing, Deep Creek smashed King's Fork (Suffolk, VA), 51-38, in a league outing.
The Lions now hold a 0-12 record. They play next when they host Bayside for a Beach outing on Friday, January 19. Tallwood will clash with a Marlins squad coming off a 50-24 league win over Ocean Lakes (Virginia Beach, VA). The Marlins record now stands at 8-7.
