The Martins Ferry Purple Riders (Martins Ferry, OH) basketball crushed the host Linsly Cadets (Wheeling, WV), 62-39 in Wednesday's league test.

The Purple Riders (11-4) will now prepare for their test against Beaver (Lisbon, OH). The Beavers go into the Buckeye 8 test with a 5-10 record. In their last test, Beaver was trounced by Edison (Richmond, OH), 62-56, in a non-league test.

The Cadets now own a 4-12 record. They play next when they travel to Waterford for a non-league test on Saturday, January 20. Linsly will encounter a Wildcats squad coming off a 39-15 league win over Southern (Racine, OH). The Wildcats record now stands at 13-2.
