Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Pecos Panthers (Pecos, NM) and the visiting Mesa Vista Trojans (Ojo Caliente, NM), saw Pecos's basketball squad hold off Mesa Vista by a count of 50-45.

With the victory, Pecos upgrades its record to 10-6 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Native American Community Academy (Albuquerque, NM) to play the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 20. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 6-6. Native American Community Academy lost 33-32 in their recent non-league challenge against Mora (Mora, NM)

Next up, the Trojans play the McCurdy Bobcats (Espanola, NM) in a 2A District 5 challenge, on Thursday, January 25. Mesa Vista will attempt to upgrade on its 13-3 season record.
