Nebraska High School Basketball - Gothenburg holds off Chase County

January 17, 2025: Gothenburg, NE 69138

The Gothenburg Swedes basketball team scored 51 points and limited the visiting Chase County Longhorns to 44 in the Swedes league triumph on Friday.

The Swedes now have a 7-5 record. They play next when they travel to Broken Bow for a C1 District 11 game on Thursday, January 23. Gothenburg will confront a Indians team coming off a 67-52 non-league win over Wood River (Wood River, NE). The Indians record now stands at 5-8.

With the loss, Chase County falls to 6-7 on the campaign. The Longhorns travel to St. Patrick's (North Platte, NE) to confront the Irish in a non-league game on Monday, January 20. The Irish go into the game with a record of 10-4. St. Patrick's won 58-46 in their recent non-league game against Overton (Overton, NE)
