In Friday's non-league contest, the host East St. John Wildcats basketball team scored a close 55-51 triumph over the St. James Wildcats.
The Wildcats (15-15) will now prepare for their contest against Tara (Baton Rouge, LA). The Trojans go into the non-league contest with a 11-14 record.
In their next game, the Wildcats battle the Assumption Mustangs (Napoleonville, LA) in a non-league contest, on Monday, January 20. St. James will attempt to better on its 6-10 season record. The Mustangs go into the contest with a 6-22 record after their 64-30 non-league loss to Plaquemine (Plaquemine, LA).
