The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Elliott County Lions (Sandy Hook, KY) and the visiting Lewis County Lions (Vanceburg, KY), observed Elliott County's basketball team knock off Lewis County by a score of 58-50.

The Lions (7-2) will now prepare for their challenge against West Carter (Olive Hill, KY). The Comets come into the District 62 challenge with a 3-9 record. In their last challenge, West Carter was knocked off by Russell (Russell, KY), 60-37, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Lions encounter the Morgan County Cougars (West Liberty, KY) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 21. Lewis County will attempt to improve on its 6-5 season record. The Cougars come into the challenge with a 5-6 record after their 59-48 league win over West Carter (Olive Hill, KY).
