In Friday's non-league contest, the host Kickapoo Chiefs basketball team scored a big 68-39 triumph over the Poplar Bluff Mules.

The Chiefs (13-1) will now prepare for their contest against Carthage (Carthage, MO). The Tigers go into the non-league contest with a 9-4 record. In their last contest, Carthage was trounced by Nixa (Nixa, MO), 48-34, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Mules confront the Jackson Fighting Indians (Jackson, MO) in a Southeast Missouri contest, on Tuesday, January 21. Poplar Bluff will attempt to better on its 5-8 season record. The Fighting Indians go into the contest with a 14-2 record after their 54-44 non-league win over Hillsboro (Hillsboro, MO).
